Brian Bailey
Norwalk
Common Council Candidate
for District E

Brian Bailey - Background

Brian Bailey has been a proud Norwalk resident for 14 years, where he lives with his wife, Jessica, and four children. He combines deep financial expertise with extensive public sector experience and a strong tradition of community service.

Brian began his career as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for U.S. Congresswoman Barbara Kennelly’s Connecticut gubernatorial campaign, overseeing the budget and daily operations. He then served as a senior aide to newly elected State Treasurer Denise Nappier, helping advance her legislative agenda at the Connecticut General Assembly—where he first worked with then-State Representative Bob Duff.

After earning his MBA from the Yale School of Management, Brian spent the past 20 years at the intersection of finance and technology. He has held leadership roles at global investment banks and fintech firms, building investment tools used by institutional fixed income portfolio managers. Today, he serves as Head of Strategic Partnerships at RiskSpan, a high-growth financial technology company.

In Norwalk, Brian has been deeply involved in youth activities, volunteering as a coach every season and serving as Treasurer of the Norwalk Lacrosse Association. He is committed to bringing his collaborative approach, financial acumen, and public sector knowledge to the Common Council.

Brian also carries forward a family legacy of public service. His father, Jack Bailey, served as Connecticut’s Chief State’s Attorney; his grandfather, John M. Bailey, was the longtime Connecticut Democratic State and National Party Chairman; and close relatives have served in the U.S. Congress, as Connecticut Secretary of State, Speaker of the Connecticut House of Representatives, Board of Trustees for University of Connecticut, and various Connecticut municipal elected offices.

If elected, Brian will work tirelessly to keep Norwalk moving forward. He will champion the successful policies that have led to a steady decline in crime over the past decade, continued gains in standardized test scores and school attendance, and significant commercial investment that is revitalizing the Wall Street, West Avenue and Water Street urban districts. Under this progress, Norwalk has earned national recognition, including being named by Fortune Magazine in 2023 as the best place for families to live in Connecticut and also continues to serves as the headquarters of major companies including Xerox, Booking Holdings, EMCOR Group, FactSet, Datto, Diageo and Frontier which generate billions in revenue. Brian is committed to building on this momentum and ensuring Norwalk’s future remains strong, safe, and vibrant.
